In the Holy Bible, our Lord Jesus called on Christians to help the needy in  Matthew 25:35-40 and Psalms 82:3. In the Holy Quran 78:6, Mohammed and Allah called on Muslims to help orphans. During our visit to South Sudan, Kenya, and Uganda in 2019, we were surrounded by most vulnerable, neglected children and deprived orphans while crying and  begging: help us with food, help us with shelters, we are sick. 

Yet the worst case was when we saw some youngsters, who were horribly sick lying down on the floor, They were even unable to stand up and walk. They could not express themselves because they were too weak to do anything. Tears went down our cheeks unknowingly. 

As Christians including a survivor of the same terrible conditions, Dr. Deng, we felt obligated to help save their lives. We could not bypass them and leave them there.  We fed them and took terrible sick ones to hospital for medical care. With small amount of money we had, we finally managed to find them temporary shelters or homes. 

We only saved a few lives. But hundreds of vulnerable children and orphans are yet to find such unmet needs. They need our help and yes we must help them with hope that good Samaritans like you would join us and help them heal their wounded lives.
