THE FOUNDATION'S HISTORY
Our history began in 2019 with the personal journeys when Dr. Deng and his friends visited South Sudan, Kenya, and Uganda. During their visit to these countries, they met abandoned children and marginalized orphans. They also witnessed mothers dumped in the garbage areas at the time of their births.
Mothers abandoned their babies because they could not raise them. Extreme hunger and poverty exacerbated such an inhumanity. Dr. Deng, a survivor of genocide, war, chronic hunger, and thirst, cried when he saw newborns and orphans suffered and lived in dreadful conditions.
Today, Dr. Deng has adopted eight children and youth. Yet millions of orphans do not meet their basic needs and live in dreadful conditions. When Dr. Deng and his friends returned to the U.S., they remembered the vision of vulnerable children they left living in dreadful conditions. The vision haunted and forced them to form the Dr. Deng Diing Foundation. The foundation was named after Dr. Deng's name to honor his legacy, philanthropic dedication, and compassion. The founding members generated funds to start-up called "Healing Wounded Lives Package". The package has now benefited about 15 abandoned children and marginalized youth.
To save more lives of abandoned children and youth, we seek help from well-wishers and caring Americans. Through well-wishers' support, the Foundation quickly grows and expands its mission, and reaches out to save hundreds of defenseless lives and meet their basic needs in Sub-Saharan Africa. Thank you for your blessing, helping hands, and kind heart.
