DR. DENG'S LIFE STORY
WHO IS DENG DIING?

Dr. Deng Diing is a former Lost Boy, a refugee, an Ultimate Adventure Survivor of hidden genocide in Sudan. He is also an Author of God Left Us Behind Fatal FAITH (chronic Famine, Thirst, & Illnesses; wild animals & hidden Holocaust). At age 8, Dr. Deng escaped and survived a human hunt called "Wipe Alsharat (insects) Off the Map." The Government of Sudan launched it to kill old people in Southern Sudan and take young people to Northern Sudan for slavery. Dr. Deng was among over 30 000 boys (ages 5-17 years) who escaped deadly attacks and killings in their villages while leaving their parents behind in 1987. Deng and his colleagues walked for thousands of miles across Sudan to the refugee camps in Ethiopia. They suffered from chronic famine, dehydration, and illnesses, and thousands of people died in their ways.
In 1991, Ethiopian rebels forced all Sudanese refugees from the refugee camp. The refugees walked and ran back and forth between Sudan and Ethiopia. Hundreds of people died. Dr. Deng and other survivors walked through dangerous bushes, deserts, and crossed deadly rivers. Deng also survived the war as the frontline child soldier. He witnessed colleagues die during the journeys of seeking refuge, and they killed others in the war.
Today, survivors are in refugee camps in East Africa, North Africa, and the Western World. Thousands of former refugees returned to South Sudan. Dr. Deng lived in between refugee camps and the bushes for 14 years. After 14 years of living in the refugee camps, he resettled to America in 2001. Deng came to America with a Big Dream, Vision & Inspirations. He discusses his dreams, vision, and inspirations in his upcoming book: Walking through the Wildest Bushes to the American Ph.D. Classroom. Upon arrival in America, Deng has straddled two worlds for most of his life. He reconciles his life of opportunity in the United States with a longing for his war-torn country. During 20 years of living in America, he balanced work and school. Deng worked two jobs, saved time and money for an annual visiting, and running organization in his home country.
Despite these obstacles, he attended several prestigious universities and graduated with five degrees: a doctoral degree, an educational specialist, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a master's degree. He holds bachelor's degrees in Economics and Finance from Niagara University, as well as a Master Certificate in ESL and Secondary Mathematics Education from the American College of Education. Dr. Deng is a certified aspirant educator who has devoted her life to teaching in public schools in the United States.
At age 18, Dr. Deng began his teaching career in Kakuma Refugee Camp in 1998. Many lost boys called him Mwalimu, a teacher in Swahili. He has been teaching for two decades. Dr. Deng spoke publicly about genocide, war, and African conflicts. He advocates for refugees and immigrants, and issues that affect them in the world. With aspiring speaking ability, Dr. Deng has been known as a motivational and inspiring speaker. People called him People's Person, and he has received many humanitarian, education, and leadership awards.
Teaching career, public speaking, and leadership role have become part of his daily compassion and career. As a survivor, Dr. Deng has a unique belief in helping the needy or vulnerable people. Helping people in need has been part of his life. Inspired by Jesus Christ, Christ calls on Christians in the Holy Bible (Matthew 25: 35-40; Psalms 82:3-4) to help vulnerable neglected and abandoned children and deprived orphans or weak and defenseless people. Deng demonstrates this call to action by donating 15% of his monthly salaries to provide unprivileged people with urgent needs through Aid and Care & DRD Foundation.
